Haha, I’m glad! People think I’m trolling, but I’m being completely serious. I do dislike Jamie with an utter passion. He is not a good person in my eyes.
Good thing you’re not reading a story about him, told by him, th- oh wait, no.
You do not like this character. This is fair, and it is your right. However! You are shaping your identity around your hatred of this character, and that is not a healthy thing to do.
If you hate him so much, your options are a) get over it, or b) stop reading the story that is so subtly titled JAMIE’S STORY. If you’re waiting to find out what happens with Charlie, then give it a few weeks/months, and come back and read the ending. However, given that past experience with previous couples suggests that Charlie’s story will end with Jamie/Charlie in some degree, I rather suspect you will be disappointed in it. In that event, please remember that at this point the majority of us are rooting for Jamie and would very much not appreciate it if you chose to piss on our bonfires in your reaction.
Right…I’m going to continue reading because I want to know what happens. And I will keep voicing my opinions. How do you think I feel when I see all of you fawning over this son of a bitch?
OH SHOCK PEOPLE EXPRESSING FONDNESS FOR A CHARACTER SOMEONE CALL THE COPS HOW DARE THEY.
Honestly, I do know how you feel because I go through the same thing in another fandom- I’m unfortunate enough to dislike one of the main characters that the rest of the fandom seems to love. And it sucks, but- and this is a very big but- their fondness of a character that they enjoy does not harm me in any way, shape, or form. And yes, I did have to learn this lesson on my own, and the hard way.
But here’s the thing. This story is ABOUT JAMIE. It is called JAMIE’S STORY because he is the MAIN CHARACTER. Because this story is ABOUT HIM. You can continue to read it all you want to; that’s your choice. My advice was simply advice. But given that your hatred of Jamie is so all-consuming that you have chosen to shape your very identity around it, and that the idea of him being happy actually makes you ill? All it does is make you look petty and masochistic. Because I’ma be honest with you, the odds of the ending of this story being satisfying to you in any way are pretty slim to none.
